Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

can anyone see my criminal record

I recieved a ordinance violation ticket for cannabis 13 years ago. There is a record of it in the Dupage county data base. How can I know if the record exists on the Illinois State data base and Can I get it expunged? Also, will it show up if a criminal background check is carried out by any board of education in any state?

Generally speaking, ordinance violations are not considered "criminal" offenses strictly speaking. Your arrest may have been reported to the Illinois State Police however, and you may have a record of the arrest without a disposition. If would take a court order to have it expunged and sealed. For that you should contact counsel.
