Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Father arrested

My father who is 70 was arrested and accused of a crime. The police has refused to disclose the crime or allow us to see him. He is diabetic and now the police has decided to take him to a hospital because my father is not cooperating according to them. This is all they said. We, his daughters have not been able to talk to him and he has not been allowed to make his first phone call.
