Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

So I was heading to work a few months ago, and i thought I started at 3 o'clock. I get there and my co-workers tell me my manager wants me in the main office. So i go to the main office and my manager sees me and asks where have I been? I said I start at 3. She said, "No d decides to grab me by my bicep and push me out the room. I'm in shock becyou start at 12." Well I was pretty sure I started at 3 so I responded jokingly it has to be three. We went back and forth for 20 more seconds. So she gets up anause someone has just put their hands on me and i'm not comfortable. So she says, "lets go check the schedule." And I told her to not put her hands on me.

Long story short I called my union and coporate and all they did as take a report. She got transferred to a different store but she was already getting transferred for a different altercation(s). So what I want to know is can I sue for her putting her hands on me? I am a minor. I'm 16 years old. And I am also african american. And the thing that makes me angry is that if it were the other way around, i would most likely be put in jail. Any feedback on if this seems like a case? I have thirty letters of reference from co-workers who say i'm an amazing worker.

From what you say your anger is very justified but I would still hesitate calling on the "race card" even if you're right. Can you sue? Well, if you have witnesses based on what you say happened it seems that you could sue for assault and battery, and you could be awarded damages, but that is the academic answer. The question I would ask you is what do you really want out of this? Once you know the answer, there may be other ways of accomplishing your goal that are better for you in the long run.
