Can I get probation for first time residential burglary or maybe house arrest?

It is possible in some situations, but you really haven't told us enough information for any attorney to be able to give you a better response. What you need to do is to consult with a criminal defense attorney in the geographical area in which the charges are pending, tell that attorney everything about the case, and then follow that attorney's advice. Residential burglary in a non-probational Class 1 felony. However, if you are convicted of residential burglary your lawyer can seek to have you placed on TASC probation or in "boot camp"
