Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Purchase-Accpetance of Alcohol by Minor

My friend (19) and I (20) were at a College party where we had about 2 drinks each. A fight broke out between 2 men neither of us knew and the owner told everyone to leave because the police were on the way.

As we left we cut through a parking lot walking back to my friends dorm where another police officer asked to talk to us. He asked if we had been drinking, I replied honestly, ''yes we had a drink at a party and then a fight happened so everyone left.''

We never were asked to take a breathalyzer and were both issued ''Purchase-Acceptance of Alcohol by Minor'' tickets. There is no fine at the moment just a court date.

What would anyone suggest doing on the court date?
