Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Robbery

I was arrested on a robbery charge, stemming from an incident that invloved me with four friends. We were riding together when a fight broke out between three of them in the back seat. I was in the front seat, two of us never got involved.Once the car stopped, one guy snatched a jersey from the other and the rest of took off in the car. Warrants were issued for all our arrest, because the guy reported that he had been robbed of his jersey, and all of us were in the car. I'm the only one whose been arrested and in jail for more than a month. I want to know how long can they hold me without a court appearance and how can I find out what evidence thay have. When asked,I told them that I was in the car, but I never admitted to robbery. The public offender said I should have remained silent. Can they try me alone without the other witnesses being arrested?. Are there any motions that I can file to find out about my case from inside. Please help me to understaend what can happen, I'm seventeen and scared. When my mom went online in the Will County website, it gave a court date of Dec. 04. Can they hold me that long? How can I request a speedy trial?

Re: Robbery

Your attorney should dot hat for you. But go ahead and put it in writing and file it with the clerk of the court. Defendant requests his right to a speedy trial.
