Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Unlawful use of a Weapon and possession

Mu husband was arrested on the streets of chicago, the police arrested him and took him to jail because they got a call that it was a shooting in the area. I got a call from a friend telling me that he got locked up. I went to the area to see what happened. When I arrived, my car was parked and locked and the police told me that i couldn't get anything out my car until the crime scene van came. After 1 hour 1/2 went passed, I left. The next day, he was charged with unlawful use of a weapon that he did not have in his possession when they arrested him. There was no gun powder residue, his prints was not found on the weapon and the ballistic test came back negative from being fired. The state wants to give him 6 to 30 years @ 85% and they don't even have any evidence. What are the chances that he will get some time?

Re: Unlawful use of a Weapon and possession

The question is "what is the chance he will be convicted?" That depends on the facts and the law. If you call me I will be glad to discuss this with your husband.
