Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Illinois

Discrimination based on residence

On Thursday 12/14/06 playoff tickets for an NFL team went on sale through Ticketmaster. There was a disclaimer on both Tickmaster and the teams website that indicated if your billing address was not in the teams state or the northern portion of a neighboring state that your order would be cancelled. Is this legal? I am a resident of a different state who was very interested in purchasing playoff tickets at a fair price so that I coule attend the playoffs. I am now forced to purchase through E-Bay or ticketstud at an inflated price from those fortunate enought to live in states indicated.

Re: Discrimination based on residence

Hello. I can understand your disappointment. I

suggests that you contact the Office of the

U.S. Attorney and make a formal complaint. It is

possible that a federal guideline for advertising

was violated.
