Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Illinois

Socal security card

I recently applied for a home mortgage loan and was told that I must produce a social security card to prove that my socal security number is valid otherwise I will not be able to get the loan. I am and have been a U.S. citicen since birth, I am Puertorican, but lost my card more than 20 years ago. I worked for the same company for over 30 years

and I never needed another card. I offered to show them an earning statement from the Social Security Office, my drivers license, passport, and or my discharge papers from the US marines but they insist on seing a social security card.

Am I being discriminated because I am Hispanic?
