Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Illinois

I work for a multi billion dollar company, and i am also a member of the uaw. Over the last month i have been repeatedly confronted in a intimidating manner, and setup to produce scrap or other job related mishaps by the operator on the previous shift. i am the only woman operator in a department of all males, and have had several instances were i was lied to, or information was not disclosed to me correctly, as to set me up for failure. i have discussed this matter with several other coworkers and managment. and truley feel as if this is merely because i am a woman in a mans work force. things recently escalated to the point were i produced a high dollar scrap due to misinformed information from this co worker. i discussed issue with a couple of my bosses, and 2 nights later was called in to general foremans office and told i was not allowed to mention sexual harrasment since no sexual advances had been made, and that i needed to get over my fear of this co worker. also it was my fault for not comeing in early to spend more time with this co worker who already made me feel uncomfterable to be around him. is he allowed to tell me i cant bring up a issue that could cause labor relations to investigate, and is he guilty of creating a more hostile work environment. one week after this i was placed on indefinate suspension for absenteeism. i have a 3 year old who had to have eye surgery, resulting in abnormal biopsy. i had 3 weeks vacation, and ask to use 2 days for her surgery. I tried to see about family medical leave, but did not qualify. the night i was supposed to return to work, we had a snow storm. i live 45 min. away. we were under winter warning and i was unable to make it in. I called in. the next night i was put on suspension by same boss as above. I ask for list of days to see if i had medical documentation for the time i was being punished for. I was told no, and when i was collecting my things to be walked out, I ask if i could see my union steward, and i was told " no you are still on probation," Before i could afford minutes on my cell phone, or gas to get to union hall, 2 business days later i recieved certified letter telling me i had been switched to discharged. Do I have legal grounds to sue? I feel like every thing was a result of my mentioning sexual discrimination. I was under a verbal warning for not working a volunteer sunday. But i had no written warnings. I also had 2 weeks and 3 days vacation I was not allowed to use on the days i had to miss due to weather, because I did not Have a supervisor I could call, and have vacation day approved. Our company uses a automated call in service. Please help me.

Hello. In my opinion, based upon the information that you have provided, you are a victim of gender discrimination in the worst manner. You should immediately collect and compile all memorandums concerning your treatment by the job into a folder. You should then immediately hire an attorney, whom you feel comfortable with, and start a lawsuit against this company. In my opinion, time is of the essence, and it is important to get a lawyer working for you now! Also, you should immediately file for unemployment compensation, assuming your employment with this company has been terminated.
