Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

dui in illinois

if i received a dui in Illinois, but i am licensed in Minnesota, do i have to pay both reinstatement fees? in addition, i have been charged to do 10 hours of classes from Illionois, but only have to take a dui written test. Isnt this a form of double jeapordy?

Re: dui in illinois

It is a civil case, noit a criminal one and, as a result, preclusions related to double jeopardy do not apply.

You may challenge the license revocation in eiother state or both states. However, if you do not prevail, you would likely be revoked in each astate and required to pay their reinstatement fee to seek a return of your license.
