Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

DUI in another state

I got a DUI in Dec. in the state of Ky. and live in Il. I've completed everything for Ky. and have had my driving privilages reinstated in Ky. I got a DUI 6 yrs. ago in Il. and am being told Il. will revoke my lic. for 1-5 years even though I'm clear in Ky. Is this the case? and if so when should I be notified of the revocation?

Re: DUI in another state

You cannot apply for your license until 5 years from the most recent conviction. Illinois does not care if you are ok to drive in another state. The problem is that DUI's are very politically incorrect (since people who keep getting them tend to run into people/cars and kill others), so the legislature is cracking down on repeat offenders.
