Hello. In my opinion, a grievance should be filed against this board member. The issue is whether he has a conflict of interest and should simultaneously serve as board member and coach. Based upon the facts provided by you, he does! It may be necessary to file a lawsuit seeking an injunction which would prohibit him from continuing to coach while a school board

member. The intimidation and bullying could result in him be sued and held liable for negligent infliction of emotional distress. Our office handled a case last year in the Chicago area involving negligent infliction of emotional distress by a teacher and we successfully settled the matter for our client. The same law should apply for a board member/coach who intimidates administration personnel and team players. Anyone enduring this abuse should retain an attorney and take action. Will be happy to discuss this further and in more detail.
