Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

HI I am 24 years old my parents have a "Guardianship over disabled adult" over me and I want to terminate it at any means. They are mentally abusing me and I am not sure of how to approach it. They control my life and dont allow me to see my friends or now my recent fiancee. My parents are now trying to get a emergency order of protection against him. I do not like being at home I really want to move out but cant because of this stupid guardianship. They haven't done an annual review in the last five years until now when i tried to appear in court to terminate the guardianship but judge said my parents had to be there. So I dismissed the case because I am scared of them. I want to see a doctor to be reevaluated but my mother will not take me. This whole thing is getting me sick and depressed i dont know what to do please help.

You've been told what to do and you have refused to do it. Go back into court reopen your case and give your parents notice. If you are afraid of them, tell the Judge. Take yourself to a doctor for an evaluation. The court will appoint a guardian ad litem to evaluate your situation and to protect you. If you are capable of living on your own and making your own decisions, you can prove that be handling your own case with or without the assistance of an attorney.
