Re: child custody

You need to file the appropriate motion with the court. Then you go to court and explain to the judge why it is in the best interest of the child. There are restrictions about making the change you want if the original order was done recently.

Re: child custody

In some cases it is possible to file a Motion to Modify the existing Court Order. The Motion is served upon the other parent and then that person has thirty days to respond in court. Sometimes these Motions can be settled and sometimes they have to be tried. Although it is permissable for you to represent yourself, I believe that you would be better off hiring an attorney. At least you should consult with an attorney in the county where your Motion would be heard. Good luck!
