Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Divorce/ private property

My husband and I are divorcing because violence played a part in our marraige, we've been married for 1yr. and I left. no he is holding my cloths and everything I own, I went to the police and he kept driving, so I wasn't able to get my things, we also bought a car he is the co-buyer and he tells me in order 2 get the car back I have to pay HIM a car note. He already took my last pay check from me and that covers the carnote and insur. How can I get my belongings and car back? By the way he has his own car and my car My name is first on the Bill of sale and he is just a co-buyer. Do I have any rights to this car?

If you do not have an attorney then you better get one fast. Sounds like you need an order of protection.
