domestic violence victim protecting child from visitation with abuser

I'm a single mother and a victim of domestic violece.I was pregnant at the time I got an order of protection. The father is seeking paternity and visitation. He has an untreated mental illness and PTSD from being overseas in the military. Also untreated. He has psychotic episodes. What can I do to protect my son from getting visitation with his father. My son is 3 months old?

You can start by getting a protective order that keeps him away from you and the children.

That will not stop him from asking for visitation and the Court will generally want to allow the father some relationship with his kids. So the second step is ask for supervised visitation. With those two pieces in place, you should be able to feel safe.
