Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I'm At The End Of A Horrible Divorce. The Judge Awarded Our son His Car And Ordered Us To Sign The Title Over. My Husband Was Out Of Town That Following Week And The Plates Were Due For The Vehicle So My Husband Told Me To Just Sign It For Him, Which I've Done A Million Times Before! In Or Divorce I Was Awarded More Than My Husband was Happy With And now He Is Furious. Now He States That He Is Going To Say He Never Gave Me Permission To Sign The Title!! Am I In Trouble For Being An Idiot!!!

If you are saying your ex- gave you permission to sign his name, and you have nothing in writing from him giving you that permission, technically you could be in trouble because that's forgery if you did not sign it properly (as having power of attorney) and you can't prove that he gave you permission. But if you did what the court order said you and he were supposed to do anyhow (being signing over title) then there was no harm to your ex. HOWEVER, it sounds like there is more going on if your ex- is now going to contest the entire decree including the car.... So didn't you have an attorney help you? You should be talking to him or her. And if you did NOT, you need to see one now because your ex's threats may be real, and especially if the divorce decree is not final.
