Engagement ring.
If someone was given an engagement ring, and the couple broke up, is that person legally obligated to return the ring if the other person asks for it back? I placed this under family law, though the couple never got married.

Typically, a gift given in contemplation of marriage will be returned to the giver in the event the marriage does not take place.
