Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Can an ex-wife take me to court to sue for college expenses for my daughter. Original divorce papers were to pay child support until 18, no mention of college expenses. Daughter is now 191/2.

My annual salary is $39,000. I have no assets. Don't own a home, have no savings or investments.

She went to a junior college her 1st year and her mother paid for that. Now she wants to go to a $24,000 a year school. At present her grade point average is a 2.1 and she doesn't work.

Thank You,

Jim Groth

Yes she can. Section 513 obligations (college) need not be set forth in the judgment.
