Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

my grandson

my son is in jail,,,can my son and i write or get a legal paper filled out so i can make decessions while hes with me,,my grandson has been with me since his mother passed away,,now my son may be gone a long time and he asks me to find a paper for him to sign in case, somthing would happen to him so i could still raise my grandson

You need to get an attorney and have him set up a guardianship so that you have legal custody of the child.
