Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Hello. Is the Illinois Postnuptial Agreement form the only form I'll need to ensure an agreement regarding the assets of my wife and I be legally upheld should a divorce take place? And are two witnesses required or just one and a notary public? Thank you for your time and professional advice. - Tom

Tom:

A prenuptial should not be a do-it-yourself type procedure. There can be very serious consequences if not done properly. I suggest that you contact a local attorney and spend a few dollars to have a proper prenup drafted.

They aren't that expensive. My bet is if your assets are so significant that you want a prenup, the cost of having an attorney draft one pales in comparison.
