Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I live in Illinois and have joint costudy with my kids. My ex wants to move out of state can she do that if I have joint custody?

i depends on what your JPA says. Note that the law of relocation changed recently. If she wants to move out of state more than 50 or 75 miles from where she currently lives, depending anywhere you and she live, she is required to serve you with a notice of relocation. You can agree or she is then supposed to seek court permission to move. There are numerous factors that go into that process, such as reason for moving, benefits to the mover and the children, detriment to you, If you two cannot agree, then a court will decide.
