If you get married in St. Thomas USVI and live Chicago Illinois do have to file your marriage licience in Illinois.

No - there is no way to do so. If you are married legally where you were married and you did not get married there to get around IL law (such as marrying a 1st cousin) then your marriage is valid. There is no system to file your foreign marriage license here. If it makes you feel more comfortable, get a certified copy of your marriage license from the USVI.
