Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

question regarding ''marital status''

Hi. I am applying for a visa to get married in the UK. However, I was previously married and have divorced. When ''checking off boxes,'' is it legal for me to check ''single'' or am I compelled to check ''divorced?''

Re: question regarding ''marital status''

I think you would be better off telling the whole truth, rather than waiting for it to bite you later on. if you tget caught lying on the application, you could lose your right to live there.
