Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I am seperated with my name on a joint account, can I still withdrawl money?

We are planning to file for divorce. I have my own checking account at a different bank. He refinanced the house without my signature this time. The house has always been in just his name but I've always had to sign a paper stating that I knew what he was doing. This time he did it without my knowledge until now. The 6,000.00 in the bank is from refinacing the house. I just need to know if I will be in any legal trouble if I take 2,000.00 out. We also have a car in his name that has been in my posession since 2002. I have been making the payments on it through my own checking account. Can he come and take that away from me?

A divorce is complicated and especially true when there are assets involved. You really need to sit down with an attorney to discuss these issues.
