Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My two sons were taken away from their mother because I called the Department of child and family services. My two boys were supposed to be placed with me and they were not for 3 months because Catholic Charities did not properly read the court orders. They only let me see my kids und3er supervised visits. This caused a lot of problems for my three year od boy who didn't understand why I could only see him an hour a week. Before my last court date, my lawyer and kids GAL threw a fit on why my kids wasn't placed with me. I just want to know if I have a case to sue Catholic Charities for wrongfully withholding my kids from me

Hello. If Catholic Charities was acting as an agent of the State for IIlinois, it will be necessary to file an action with the Illinois Court of Claims. This is separate from the Illinois Circuit Court system. By law the State of Illinois cannot be sued through the Circuit Court System. A claim with the Illinois Court of Claims is the appropriate option. On the other hand, if Catholic Charities was acting independently, you may be able to file a lawsuit to recover measurable damages.
