Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Can I sue my soon to be ex wife?

We have been together 3 years, only of which 6 months were married. She supported me 2 years in her home. No children are involved. She recently filed for divorce, needless to say, we are getting a divorce. But she basically through me out with no where to go. Im very upset because I think another man may be involved.

Am I entitled to anything?

It's hard to say without knowing the extent of the marital estate. If you think she is spend (dissipating) marital assets on her b/f then you can allege dissipation which will require a reimbursement of those monies to the estate

What do you think you would be entitled to? It sounds like you've had a free ride for the last 3 years and your wife has gotten tired of supporting you. You can ask the court to award you maintenance but your highly unlikely to get it given that you were only married for 6 months. I'm assuming the last six months before she filed. Best suggestion would be to get a job, get on with your life and consent to an uncontested divorce.
