Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Termination of Child Support

My wife and I were divorced in 1986. We have 3 childern, which I have paid child support for since then. In 2004, my ex-wife and I were remarried. Our childern are now 29, 27 and 22. I am still paying child support for the 22 year old as they are a college student. Since my ex-wife and I are remarried, I would like to stop the child support payment through the court and the associated fees, hassle, etc. What do I need to file with the court to end my child support obligations? Could I simply give them my marriage certificate?

You need to file a motion or an agreed order to terminate the support. I can prepare these documents for you and have them entered in the court for a fee of $375.00. Please call me for a free consultation.
