slander basically is when someone says something untrue about you to another that believes it and you are actually damaged by it. sometimes damages are presumed as in the case of accusing someone of a crime or having a communicable disease. there is alot more to it and many defenses. litigation is very expensive and stressful so it is important that a solid case be established against a collectable defendat before you even consider it. contact a reputable lawyer in your area and get a first hand opinion. bottom line is most "slander" situations are best for all concerned to be left alone.
