Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

Citation to Discovery Assets

My husband had a judgment entered against him for chiropartic services. The judgment creditor has issued a citation to discovery assets against my husband and myself. Does the court have jurisdiction over me as I was not named in the lawsuit and the judgment was not entered against me.

Thank you,

Re: Citation to Discovery Assets

If the citation has your name on it, you MUST appear in court and explain to the judge that the judgment is not against you and ask that the citation be dismissed so far as you are concerned. If you do not appear, you will be held in contempt and a body attachement may be entered against you after a rule has issed.
