Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

A civil case for retaliatory discharge against my former employer has been filed. During the recruitment process, employment, and up to the time I was terminated, I was a resident in the same county and state in which the case has been filed. Am I required to maintain a residence in the county/state to continue with the case ?

As long as the case was originally filed in the correct venue, your case will remain in the current court, regardless of whether you change residences. You will have to continue to prosecute within that court diligently though. This means making it to court when it is scheduled.
