Defamation or Slander?

Someone is anonymously posting very serious accusations against my family on a widely read blog. I 'know' who it is because only this person would know the personal details about my family.

Is this defamation and, if so, does the blog administrator have to identify this person upon summons?

Generally, defamation is a publication which brings you into disrepute. The blog administrator could be served with a petition for discovery to obtain the name of the posting party.
