Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

I paid off my van 16 months ago at a buy here pay here car lot. The salesman that sold me the car no longer works there because they said he was taking money. I have my contract that states the date I started paying and the final pay off date. I do not have all the receipt though. I never missed a payment. I have not moved or changed my number in over 3 years but this is the first time I've heard from them. I never received my title for the van because the salesman kept telling me he was having problems getting it back from down state. He was a friend so I trusted him...he just kept telling me it was coming and to please just give him more time. I'm a single mom on disability and I can't lose my van. They want me to start paying for this van again, I don't know what I can do can someone just tell me if they can do this and what I should do. Please help me. Thank you.

Your problem is that you do not have all of your receipts. They can make a legitimate claim for whatever you cannot prove that you paid.
