Generally speaking you do not need to put property in storage after so much time has elapsed.

If you are able to easily contact the boyfriend, then you should do so before throwing anything away. If you are concered about having him at your apartment, you can arrange to contact him through a friend or family member.

If you cannot get in contact with your ex, and have made reasonable efforts to do so, then it has probably been long enough to dispose of the property.

If you told your ex that you would keep the property for him, then you may be in a tougher spot.

Hello. I suggests that you put them in storage for another six months. Afterwards, I suggests sending him a letter that unless he retrieves the items you will donate them to a charity. Hope this helps.
