Legal Question in Immigration Law in Illinois

travel with Advanve Parole receipt

i am on H1B visa and plan to quit this month. My husband is US citizen. We has filed for my Change of status, permanent resident, advance parole. We have received the receipt on Nov 4th 2008. I need to visit India in Jan 2009 first week. As I will not have my job at that time, I will lose my H1B status. If I dont recive my AP till that time, how can I travel abroad. What do I need to do, to make sure that I can come back to USA. thanks

Without Advanced Parole or a valid visa, you cannot leave the country. Well, you can leave the country, but you probably will not be allowed back in.

Advanced Parole should come within 90 days though, so you have a good chance at that working out.
