Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Illinois

I provide a service and am looking to trademark the company name. I may also sell products associated with that name. Do I need to apply for a product and service trademark or would my service trademark suffice on products I sell (with the same name/logo)?

By trademark I assume that you mean registering the trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. If you sell products that are labeled prominently with your company name and/or logo either on the product itself or on its packaging you should register that name or logo separately as a trademark as well as a service mark. I would need to review your usage of your mark to give you a full answer to your question.
