Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Illinois

retail theft

I am 17 yrs. old will be 18 in Jan.13. I stoled some money from a retail restaurant about 300.00. I admitted to doing it and I apologized and signed over my last payroll check to the restaurant and offered to pay the rest. I have a court appt. on Jan.4 (this Thurs.) I am going to use a court mediator because I am going to plead guilty. I am really worried do I need a lawyer instead?

Re: retail theft

Hello and Happy New Year. You should

get a lawyer. This could be upgraded

to a felony and would stay on your

record and make it difficult for you

to get a job or a professional license. This is a very serious matter. I suggests that you act

quickly. Will be happy to discuss

this with you further and in more

detail.
