Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

age discrimination?

My father was recently terminated and is 64 years of age. His title was ''Sr. Manufacturing Engineer''. The company that terminated now has a job opening on their website for a ''Manufacturing Engineer'' with a college degree required. My father has no degree. To get his severence he was required to sign paperwork stating that he would not seek legal action against the company. Does he have any legal argument here?

If he signed his rights away, it does not seem so but he should consult with an attorney - he may be able to claim some defense to that signature.
