Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

My boss called a old corker in and told him he would like to fire me and hire him back. Now it really seems like this is about to happen.

If you have no union or other contractual protection you are "AT WILL" and can be hired, fired, or quit on your own, no questions asked, unless there is some legal reason: racial, gender, age or other legally recognized discrimination, etc.
