Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I was employed at a restaurant and have since been laid off. I worked for 6 months and was paid cash. Since I had never been in that situation before, I did not realize that I would not be eligible for unemployment. I am willing to pay all of my back taxes and "snitch" out the owner of this business to have a chance at receiving unemployment as I have not been able to find another job. How should I proceed? Thank you for any adivce.

You should apply for unemployment benefits and let IDES sort out the problem with your employer. Your employer has clearly violated the law.
