Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

Expense Check Being withheld and being targeted

Hi, I'm a field technician so it involves alot of driving and other expenses, my employer pays us expense's at a very irregular time frame sometimes almost 2 months between, but recently an employee was caught padding his miles so the company owners have been accusing all the techs of doing the same. My problem is they only paid me half my expense check and want me to pay them 50% of all my expense YTD which I think is insane and is totally illegal in my belief. Sure there may be some off mileage but 50% and why only me when i wasn't even the tech padding miles? can they do this after all those previous expenses were signed and approved by them and what can i do to get my expense money from them and protect myself? This company does ALOT of underhanded things with thier taxes too, like keeping nonactive companies on the taxes and shifter profit losses between companies.

Your question has too many variables to be addressed without knowing all the facts. The company’s violation of various rules and regulations may be grounds for you to sue your company as a whistleblower and for you to keep a portion of the proceeds of the lawsuit. Please call me if you would like to discuss.
