Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I was hired as a Lead technologist, given and I.D. badge stating Lead technologist, doing the work of a Lead technologist. At evaluation time I was told that there was no such position as a Lead technologist, andt there had been and error made with my I.D. when it was printed. After 4 years my I.D. was never changed, neither the job discription. nor the job duties, which anywhere else would be the duties of a Lead tech. I believe I was told there was no such position Lead technologist because I would have to have been given an increase in my pay scale. Is there anything I can do?

You would greatly benefit from engaging an experiened employment attorney who can conduct an indepth analysis of your situation. The correct answer requires reviewing documents your company has provided you and other employees generally about job positions/grades etc; your personnel file; and any communications (verbal and written) you may have had with the employer regarding your job duties and/or compensation. Feel free to contact us for an initial telephone evaluation.
