Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

Hello,

I am looking for a lawyer in the Chicagoland area to work on a case that I currently have with the Department of Human Rights. Currently, the case is about to start the investigation process. My old company offered me a settlement of $3500. I declined that settlement.

My case is based on retaliation. I worked under a boss that was very racist and biased. I complained about this boss for a year and a half and nothing was done. On May 9, 2010 I wrote a letter to the Human Resources department after this boss gave me a write up that was full of lies. I explained my position and told the Human Resources department that I was going to have to seek outside council because I have literally begged someone to help me get out of this situation and no one did anything. In fact, they allowed this boss, along with another white coworker of mine to continue to harass me, retaliate against me and create a hostile working environment. In my letter I reiterated my concerns that I had been expressing for over a year and I also stated that I needed to seek some type of outside council. A month later on June 16th I was fired for taking a day off because my toddler had an ear infection. Another coworker of mine that is working in the same department under the same people also has a case filed with the department of Human Rights. I hope I can find a lawyer that can assist me with my case.
