Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

Short term disablity

My friend has been off work for 5 weeks due to a knee injury that occured off work. She is scheduled for surgery and plans to return to work after therapy. She pays into a STD plan. Her employer still has not completed and submitted their part of the paperwork. She is single, living alone, and is on the verge of losing everything. What recourse does she have in regards to her employer.

Re: Short term disablity

I understand the concern for your friend, but the employer might just be slow getting around to it. I would suggest sending a short note or e-mail reminding the employer to complete the paperwork. What was the knee injury? Perhaps we can advise on both matters. Please provide your contact information to [email protected] upon receipt of this e-mail so we can explore further. I look forward to hearing from you.
