Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I had signerd a non-compete 11 years ago.

I was recently fired for no good reason.

The owner of the company told me directly that it would be better for him to try and keep the customers I was working with and not have to pay me a commision so he needed to fire me so the company could save money. I had more sales in house at the time of the dismissal and he also told me that since I had so much work in house and more coming ,(commitments from my customers ) which all that I told him would come did. He has not paid me for anything that was there and or he knew was coming in from e-mails I shared with him from my customers.

Can I get around this non-compete as I have been in the business well over 25 years ,11 with the former employer who fired me.I would like to start working as I am getting offers in the industry.

non-competes are valid if it is reasonable in time and distance. further your employment contract as a whole is important. contact a reputable lawyer in your area, make an appointment and bring him/her the contract. he may owe you commissions on the committments. good luck. sounds like he is a bad guy.
