Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I would like to view my employment record because i BELIEVE SOMETHING WAS WRONGFULLY PUT ON IT THAT PREVENTS MY BEING HIRED.HOW CAN i DO THIS?

What do you mean by "employment record?" There is no central repository for employee records but each employer, by Illinois state law, is required to keep a "personnel" file for every employee. Moreover, you have a right to view that personnel file pusruant to Illinois law. If you are a former employee, you must make your request within one year of leaving the employer.
