Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

I have been harass in my apartment building for a year from other tenants. Yesterday the leader of the group tried to push me down the stairs and kicked my laptop down the stairs instead. The landlord has them doing this to intimidate me. I do not want to move again. What are my rights?

Hello. I suggests that you immediately file a police report against the person or persons who attacked you. Once you get the police report, take it to the office of the Cook County State's Attorney and ask that the person or persons be prosecuted. This is a serious matter. You may also want to get an order of protection against the person or persons who attacked you. This can be done at 555 West Harrison in Chicago. Again, I suggests that you take immediate action. Will be happy to discuss this further and in more detail.
