Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

Hello,

I signed a lease at the beginning of the year 2017 that was/is valid until December 31, 2017. It was signed with property manager A (for simpler explanation). It says nothing about the landlord himself. Approximately 3 months ago the landlord switched property managers. The lease says "this lease agreement is between you (my boyfriend and I) and us the owner/agent property manager A"

The only signatures on the lease is of my boyfriend, the lessor (property manager A), and myself.

We have submitted our 30-day notice to vacate.

How are we breaking a lease with a company that is no longer affiliated with the property we are renting?

There may have been an assignment of the lease, and your notice, if not allowed by the lease terms, may be a problem. While normally notice of an assignment is appropriate, a lot of landlords are just not that adept.
