Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

removal from property

I have a couple who were allowed to park their travel trailer on my property, which was supposed to be for a few weeks. This is now going on 2 months and they will not leave. Can I remove them from my property without going through legal eviction? They do not pay rent or provide me any service in return for allowing them to park. They have also admitted (in a law suit that they are frivolously trying start) that they are guests.....

Re: removal from property

You cannot remove the property yourself (meaning you cannot physically force them off). You can certainly try to get them off through peaceful means. And you can call the police to report that they are trespassing. Just because they came on the property as guests does not mean that they are not trespassers if you ask them to leave and they refuse.
